The Mahomet Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC) plays a vital role in supporting local businesses, entrepreneurs, and community institutions. However, its impact and value were not always clearly understood by different stakeholder groups.
The opportunity was to reposition MACC not simply as an informational organization, but as a connector, enabler, and catalyst for local growth with clearer articulation of purpose, relevance, and outcomes.
The Problem
MACC supports a diverse ecosystem that includes small business owners, entrepreneurs, residents, and local institutions. While the organization plays a critical role in the local economy, its value proposition was not always clearly understood or consistently communicated across touchpoints.
Key challenges included:
Unclear articulation of MACC’s role for different stakeholder groups
Fragmented communication of programs, events, and resources
Limited strategic alignment between internal intent and external perception
Difficulty translating MACC’s mission into clear, actionable experiences
The opportunity was to reframe MACC as a facilitator of collaboration and growth, not just an informational body.
